Communications Lead & Project Support
With a broad background in communications, writing and project coordination, Jess has worked and volunteered for environmental and education organisations in Aotearoa New Zealand and the UK.
Jess enjoys getting hands-on with conservation when she can, and has an excessive fondness for the tūturuatu/tchūriwat’/shore plover. She loves islands and the unique ecosystems that evolve there.
She was infected by the endemic Chatham bug when she first visited Rēkohu/Wharekauri in 2019, and later worked for a short stint on the islands with the Department of Conservation. She's excited to have a role that supports community-driven restoration projects on the island.
